Delora "Dee" Durant

November 28, 1938 — January 26, 2022

Delora “Dee” Durant, 83, of Ragley passed away at 7:39 AM on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 in her daughter’s residence.

Mrs. Durant was born on November 28, 1938 in Port Arthur, TX.  In 1992 she and her husband moved to Monett, MO where they resided until moving to Ragley to be near family 2 weeks ago.  Mrs. Durant worked nine years in a sewing factory, making name brand women’s clothing and also made clothes at home to supplement her income.  She became a child of the Most High when she was only ten years old, accepting Jesus Christ into her heart.  Mrs. Durant was a devoted member of Faith Worship Century in Aurora, MO where she sang on the worship team and taught Sunday school.

If you knew her you loved her, if  you needed her, she was there with extended hands, if you didn’t know her, you were drawn to her.  She was a wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend, Sunday school teacher, worshiper, but most of all a precious Child of the one and only Most High God.

In her spare time, she enjoyed being outdoors working in her flower beds and gardening.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 29 years, Billy Durant of Ragley; children, Karen Myers (Chris) of Ragley, Ray Kibodeaux (Bonnie) of Clever, MO, Edward Roy LeBoeuf, Nan Durant Perkins of Wichita, KS, and Kent Durant (Danetta) of Cheney, KS; siblings, Julie “Ronnie” Wilson of Breaux Bridge, Deborah “Debbie” Cormier (Willie) of Church Point, and Emilda Mae Hooper (Hubert) of Ragley; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Duty and Alvin Hebert; siblings, Carol Shirley, Edward Hebert, and Tony Hebert, Jr; and son, Barry LeBoeuf.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 31, 2022 in the Johnson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff.  The son, Kent Durant, and the daughter, Karen Myers will lead the services.  Burial will follow in the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings.  Visitation will begin on Sunday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue on Monday from 8:30 AM until the start of the service.
