Delta Marie Goos

Delta Marie Goos, 82, of Lake Charles passed away Wednesday, September 04, 2013 in the comfort of her home.

Mrs. Goos was born and raised in Abbeville, LA. She was a graduate of Abbeville High School and attended McNeese State University. She enjoyed gardening and landscaping. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, the Charismatic Renewal and met weekly at Cross Roads for Bible study and was both proud and humbled to have Monsignor's Irving DeBlanc and Ronald Growth as dear friends. Mrs. Goos took great pride in caring for and cooking for her family and reached out to and searched for those in need or away from home as she opened her door and invited and welcomed countless friends and strangers for holiday dinners and shelter.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Kim Goos of Leesburg, VA, Dana Marie Fleming and husband Daryl of Lake Charles and Brady Paul Goos and wife Pam of Lake Charles; three grandchildren, Brandon McFatter, Sophie Fleming and Brooke Goos, all of Lake Charles; three great-grandchildren, Slade Fleming, Jace McFatter and Jackson Justice; one sister, Lillie Mae Thibeaux of Abbeville and one brother, Roy Broussard and wife Faye of Lake Charles.

She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly fifty years, Walter S. Goos.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 7th, 2013 in Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Father John Huckaby will officiate. Interment will follow in Goos Cemetery. Visitation Friday will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until 9:45 AM in the funeral home.
