Dena Carol Burchfield

Dena Carol Willis Burchfield, 49, of Moss Bluff, LA died on Sunday, December 7, 2014. Mrs. Burchfield was born April 12, 1965 in Little Rock, AR, where she graduated from Mills High School in 1983 and received her Bachelor's in Nursing from Baptist Health School in Little Rock. She moved to the Moss Bluff area in 1995. She worked for St. Patrick Home Health for several years and then worked at DeQuincy Home Health from 2000 until her recent retirement. Mrs. Burchfield attended First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff. She loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren. She supported the Military and youth sports and loved to spend time at the beach, soaking up the rays. Mrs. Burchfield is survived by her husband of twenty-two years, Gary Burchfield of Moss Bluff; children, Selina Barto and husband Sam of Moss Bluff, Whitney Holland McCord of Moss Bluff, CPL Caleb Burchfield of Fort Polk, LA, and Austin Burchfield of Moss Bluff; parents, Jim and Shirley Willis of Lake Charles; brother, Keith Willis and wife Shannon of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Adilynn and Dayson McCord; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Scott Willis. Her memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Sean Chisholm will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Thursday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
