Dene Ann Barthels

Dene Ann Barthels, 80, of Sulphur passed away on October 15, 2015. Dene worked as an office manager for 42 years for the Credit Bureau. She grew up in the Redeemer Lutheran Church in DeRidder, LA. Dene enjoyed painting and was an artist of oils and acrylics. Her most favorite pastime was shopping, which according to everyone, she was very good at completing this task. Dene is survived by her daughter, Sherry Roark and husband Rick of Sulphur; her two sons, Ken Henderson and wife DeLaney of Shreveport, LA and Kyle Simmons, Jr. of San Francisco, CA; 6 grandchildren; 8 and a half great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, John Weick and David Weick and wife Davette; her sister, Jean Weick; her aunt, Flossie Sowell all of TX; 4 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cecil "Bart" Barthels and her sister, Sue Weick. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 from 5-9 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. A private funeral service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
