Denise Elaine Roddy

Denise Elaine Evans Roddy, 54, of Lake Charles passed away Saturday, August 09, 2015 in a local hospital. Mrs. Roddy was born in Jennings, LA and was raised in Maryland, South Dakota and Louisiana. She was a graduate of Barbe High School. She worked as a clerk and bookkeeper for many years and was a Licensed Notary for over twenty years. Mrs. Roddy had a soft spot for cats, and loved her little dog "Sweetie". She will be remembered for her kind heart. She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Glenn Roddy of Lake Charles; parents, Linzy and Vira Pryor Evans of Amherst, VA; one brother, Talmage "Bo" Evans and fiancé Sharon of Amherst, VA; one sister, Sharon Evans Bidwell and husband Fred of Phoenix, NY; step-son, Dillon Roddy of Lake Charles; step-daughter, Melissa Burleigh and husband Travis of Sulphur; three step-grandsons and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and a special aunt, Ginger Albanese. Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Tuesday, August 11, 2015 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Ronnie Estes will officiate. Visitation Tuesday will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home. Interment services at Consolata will be at a later date.
