Dennis Paul Reed

Dennis P. Reed, Sr., 80, of Many, Louisiana died at 6:52 PM Wednesday, February 1, 2012 in a local hospital.

Dennis was born in Oakdale, Louisiana and was raised in Oberlin. He attended Oberlin High School. Dennis served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Reed worked and retired as a boilermaker. He was a member of Boilermakers local # 587. Dennis loved to fish in his spare time making many trips to Toledo Bend. He was of the Catholic Faith.

Mr. Reed is survived by one son Paul Reed, Jr. of Houston, TX, one brother Sam Reed and his wife Rena of Lake Charles, LA, his companion Joy Reed of Florien, LA, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by one daughter Katherine Reed and his parents Gertie and Sam Reed, one brother Jerry Reed and one sister Doris Schoene.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 1:00 PM from the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Vincent Sadita will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 PM at the Reed Cemetery in Oberlin, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday in the funeral home until the time of services.
