Derek David Trouard

Derek David Trouard was suddenly taken from this earth on March 6th at 4:00 pm.  After a tragic accident he was airlifted to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, La, where he succumbed to his injuries.  He passed surrounded by his loving family.

Derek was born in Lake Charles, La on August 22nd, 1972 and was a 1990 graduate of St Louis High School.  He served our country in the United States Marines before settling down in Baton Rouge, La with his family.  He was a Supervisor for CB&I and specialized in pipe fitting and heavy equipment construction. 

Derek was a loving Father and he loved to travel, he most recently took his family on a trip to Thailand so that they could see different cultures and scenery.  To know Derek was to know his children as they are his greatest legacy.

Derek leaves behind to cherish his life his wife, Sarah Norwood Trouard, his two precious sons, Derek David Trouard, III and Cole David Mace Trouard. His Mother Pat Craft of Lake Charles, La, his sister Denisha Trouard, of California, his mother and father in law, Larry and Phyllis Greer and Kenneth and Valerie Norwood.  He also leaves his brothers and sisters, Stephen and Judy Norwood of Lake Charles, La, Anthony and Katie Greer, and Azure and Mike Fink, all of Matthews, NC, Valerie and Bill Harris of New Orleans, La. His two Godchildren and nephews, Russell and Ryan Norwood and nieces and nephews, Anna, Andrew, Tristan, Aydin, Richard, Violet, Kaleb, Hailey, Payton and Piper. 

  He is preceded in death by his father Ronnie Trouard and his sister in law Stephanie Norwood.

A celebration of Life for Derek David Trouard will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Visitation will be from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday at the funeral home. 

The family would like to express our many thanks to the critical care unit and ICU staff of Our Lady of the Lake Hospital, who lovingly cared for Derek in his final days.  Derek gave the gift of life through Organ Donation so that in his memory others may live.
