Derick Wade Who Dat Burnett

Derick Wade "Who Dat" Burnett, 37, of Westlake, LA went to meet his Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 12, 2012.

Mr. Burnett was born April 1, 1975 in Lake Charles, LA, was a graduate of Westlake High School and attended Sowela Tech for AC and Refrigeration. He was also a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Lake Charles. He will always be remembered as a devoted family man who enjoyed cooking, gardening, and fishing. He was an avid Saints fan and saltwater aquarium enthusiast.

He is survived by his wife of seven years, Eva Burnett of Westlake; sons, Ethan and Jace Burnett; father, Nelson Burnett of Westlake; sister, Nancy Burnett Hise of Uvalde, TX; brother, Donald Burnett of Los Angeles, CA; special nephew, Nicholas Burnett-Hise; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Stella Fabacher Burnett; brother, Randy Burnett; sister, Judy Lewis; grandparents, Lawrence and Effie Fabacher and Harold and Dalphine Burnett.

His funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Jeffery Ralston will officiate. Burial will follow in Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
