With heavy hearts we tell of the passing of our beloved son, brother, husband, dad, and paw paw, Deryle Daigle. He passed away suddenly on Sunday morning May 20, 2018 at 4:00 am in his home. Deryle was courageously fighting stage IV lung cancer along with other serious ailments but had a strong faith he was going to beat it.
He was a very fun loving person, always liked to have a good time and always helped anyone he could with produce from his garden he planted every year. He also had a tool anytime someone needed to borrow one. He liked turtle hunting and was always looking for a new place to throw his turtle trap, with the best part being eating them. He also enjoyed making homemade sausage, and enjoyed crawfish boils with his family. Deryle was an avid hunter for deer and water fowl but also respected nature. He loved the outdoors and sitting quietly in the woods hunting and enjoying nature and how beautiful it was. He worked almost all of his life in construction opening his own business, Daigle’s Construction and later renamed Deryle Daigle’s Construction Co, LLC. He loved what he did and he always said “I loved going to work and not everyone can say they like what they do.” He loved doing the finish work in his homes, being a perfectionist, he was very proud of what he did.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years Linda (Doucet) Daigle; three daughters and their families, Misty and Eain Boone, their children, Zane and Zoe; Tiffany and Jacob Cormier and their children, Bryce, Alyssa and Grayson; Ashley and Bendy Falcon and their child, Mason and one on the way due in December; his mother Joycie Daigle of Hathaway; one brother John Daigle of Lake Charles; four sisters, Sharlene Daigle, of Jennings; Donna Robinson of Lake Charles; Polly Hebert (Garland) of Evangeline; Pattie Douget (Jody) of Tepetate; and many other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Daigle, Sr.; brother, Glenn Daigle; sister, Lynetta Lafleur; and sister-in-law, Susan Daigle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Margaret Catholic Church at 11am on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. Father Marcus Johnson will officiate. Following the service cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home from 5pm to 9pm on Tuesday, May 22. A rosary will be at 6pm Tuesday evening. Visitation will continue Wednesday morning at the funeral home at 9am to 10:30am.
The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Broussard for his compassion during his treatment of Deryle and the nurses with Med Source Home Health.
