Diane Fontenot Thibeaux

Diane Marie Fontenot Thibeaux, 69, of Holmwood died Thursday, April 25, 2019 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Thibeaux was a lifelong resident of Holmwood. During her younger years she enjoyed bowling with her team in a local bowling league. She also enjoyed flower gardening. She worked at Acadian Childcare for a while, sharing her love for children, as well as her gift of caring for them. Mrs. Thibeaux was a woman of faith and prayer, a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, the Ladies Altar Society, the Cursillo rosary team and a Catechism teacher. She will be most remembered for always putting others first and for her love and devotion to her husband, children and grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory, four children, Monica Thibeaux Harrington (Shannon), Zachary Lee “Bubba” Thibeaux, Jr., Veronica “Tootie” Thibeaux Trahan (Russell) and Byron Thibeaux (Carla), all of Holmwood; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Henrietta Hebert, Sandra Fontenot and Vernita Thibeaux and her dearest friend, Sandra Lognion (Bennie) of Holmwood.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-three years “her high school sweetheart”, Zachary Lee Thibeaux; parents, Eason J. and Lula Mae Primeaux Fontenot; two brothers, C.J. Fontenot and Jimmy Fontenot and one sister, LouDell Fontenot.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 12:00 AM Monday, April 29, 2019 in St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bell City under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in DeRouen-Lorraine cemetery in Hayes. Visitation Sunday will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 6:00 PM followed by a Cursillo rosary. Visitation Monday will be from 9:00 AM until 11:15 AM in the funeral home.

Mrs. Thibeaux will be carried to her final resting place by her grandchildren.
