Dianna Lois Leblanc Semien

Dianna Lois LeBlanc Semien, 70, of Lake Charles passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 in a local hospice facility.

Mrs. Semien was born on October 14, 1948 in Lafayette and was a graduate of Joseph Celestine High School in 1968 in Mamou. She later received her bachelor’s degree in social work at Grambling State University in 1972. Mrs. Semien then moved to Lake Charles where she met her husband. She was a member of Throne of Grace Fellowship where she served as head greater until she became ill.

Her love for children led her to minister as a foster parent, having helped and fostered numerous children throughout the many years and adopting three children. Mrs. Semien also had a passion for cooking and baking.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 45 years, Isaac Semien; daughters, Savitri Washington, Sarah Thomas (Gerald), and Erika Semien; sons, Ivan Semien (Robin), Cecil Semien, and Dakota Semien; sister, Claudy Nevels (Harold, Sr.); and brothers, Raymond LeBlanc, Sr. (Gwen) and Davis LeBlanc, Sr. (Gail) all of Lake Charles; her step mother in law, Theresa Daisy Semien of Mamou; and twelve grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hester and Herbert LeBlanc, Sr.; sisters, Ramona Nail Smith and Sailor “Buck” Gilbert; and brothers, Herbert LeBlanc, Jr. and James Daniel LeBlanc.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Throne of Grace Fellowship under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Dr. Wilton J. Red will officiate. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery in Lake Charles. Visitation will begin in the church at 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
