Dixette "Meemsa" Williams, 64, of Lake Charles, LA left this world peacefully at 8:32 AM on Saturday, September 14, 2013 in her residence. Mrs. Williams was born April 24, 1949 in Lake Charles, LA, where she was a life-long resident. She was a 1967 graduate of LaGrange High School and attended McNeese State University. She worked as a paralegal for Raggio Cappel, Payton Covington, and Hunt Law firms for twenty-six years and was the owner / operator of Slender Solutions for sixteen years. She was a member of the Better Business Bureau and a part of Victoria Morton's Suddenly Slender. Mrs. Williams always took an active part in the Women's Commission and the Healthy Women's Conferences. She enjoyed painting, but her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her infectious personality and her ability to make others smile. Mrs. Williams is survived by her lifelong partner and best friend, Danny W. Williams of Lake Charles; daughters, Tracie Williams Dunn and husband Larry of Brazoria, TX and Danette Williams (McManus) of Lake Charles; daughter in heart, April V. Daley and husband Scott of Westlake, LA; brother, Dick Williams and wife Nellie; grandchildren, Drake Williams Nugent, Londyn "Blaire" McManus and Brysley Kate McManus; niece, Kelly Williams; nephew, Stetson Williams and wife Andrea Joy Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Dixy Guthridge; in-laws, Daniel Gilbert and Verda Williams; and grandmother, Leticia Scott Her funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at the Johnson Funeral Home. Father Alan Trouille will officiate. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service. Donations can be made to the Houston Methodist Transplant Hospital.
