Don Allen Labby

June 5, 1961 — August 8, 2013

Mr. Don Allen Labby, 52, of Lake Charles went to be with His Lord Jesus on Thursday, August 8, 2013, in a Houston hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Don was the Business Manager and Fitness Instructor for Christus St. Patrick's Fitness Center and for Gigi's Downtown. He was also a fitness instructor at the Magnum Center in Westlake and the Graywood Plantation Fitness Center in Lake Charles. Don enjoyed his work, especially helping people improve their physical fitness. Don was also involved in numerous community service projects.

Don loved spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed taking out of town trips with his friends. Don was known for his love of people, his laughter and his smile. Don especially loved his favorite pet and constant companion Beaux.

Don is survived by his brothers, Dale Labby and wife Cheryl of Prairieville, La., Bobby Labby of Iowa, La, and Glenn Labby and wife Ann of Lake Charles. He is also survived by his sister Becky Turner and husband Willie of Sulphur. Don is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Melvin and Ella Mae Labby of Lake Charles.

Memorial services for Don will be held in the Chapel at Johnson Funeral Home at 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 17, 2013, officiated by Rev. Gary Evers. Visitation will be held beginning at 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Cremation was conducted under the care of Johnson Funeral Home. Burial services will be will be held at Benoit Cemetery off of Big Lake Road in south Lake Charles

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to either the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society.
