Donald Joseph LeDoux Sr, 66, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.
He was born on January 22nd 1955, to Winnie and Joseph LeDoux in Lake Charles, La. He graduated from Grand Lake High School in 1973. He worked several different jobs before settling at the Cameron Parish Sherriff’s office. He was a Jailor and a road deputy before becoming a teacher in the DARE Program for many years. He was also a Motorcycle Deputy for 5 years before retiring. Donald was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing and farm work. He spent his last days on his big red tractor. He was a member of Grand Lake Faith Temple for thirty plus years.
Another joy of his was being a supervisor to his wife and kids. It was his way or the highway. Above all else was his love for the Lord Jesus Christ. He would take any opportunity to preach the good news. You could not meet Don without him reassuring you that “Jesus Loves you.” No Matter how he felt if you asked how he was, he would respond “better than I should be.” He will be remembered as a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and brother in blue.
He was welcomed into Heaven by; Parents Joseph and Winnie LeDoux; His Sibling, David LeDoux, Linda LeDoux Swire; Gloria LeDoux Cart; Martha LeDoux Gillman; His Grand babies, William Scott McCoskey, Aubrey Lynn McCoskey.
Those left to cherish his memory and bush hog “Ponderosa”; Loving Wife, Gail LeDoux; His Children, Michelle LeDoux Hebert (Ben), Laura LeDoux McCoskey (Gary), Donald Joseph LeDoux Jr (Nandi), Katherine LeDoux Lavergne (Marcus), Ashlie LeDoux (Xavier); Grand Children; Nevaeh and Jordyn Hebert; Maci McCoskey; Karson and Donald Joseph LeDoux III “Tripp”; Stryker and Everly Lavergne; his wise uncle, Howard LeDoux.
The family will welcome friends for visitation at The Vineyard Church on Gulf Hwy on Friday, September 10, 2021 beginning at 5pm to 9pm. Visitation will resume Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 9am until time of service. A funeral led by Brother Andrew Martin, Kris Howerton, and Scotty Poole will begin at 11am. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home following his services.
