Donald B. Cooper, 75, died Wednesday, November 17, 2010, in a local hospital, with his family at his side.
Mr. Cooper was born in The Bay Islands to Harley and Dulce Howell Cooper on June 25, 1935. Mr. Cooper was raised in Tampa, FL and lived in Toledo Bend following retirement until moving to Lake Charles. He served his country in the U. S. Army. He was a diesel engineer, working offshore for Tide Water Marine for 27 years. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by one son, Donald H. "Don" Cooper and wife Crystal of Lake Charles; one daughter, Vicki Danos and husband Darryl of Lake Charles; two step sons, Tracy Stephens and wife Dolly of Lake Charles and Randy Stephens and wife Gloria of Walker, LA; one sister, Corelie Minamora of Santa Rosa County, California; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and his former wife and mother of his children, Liz Hope of Lake Charles.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 22, 2010, at Florein Cemetery in Fisher, Louisiana, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Phillip North will officiate. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM in the funeral home.
