Donald Bailey "Don" Craw, 89, of Lake Charles passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013 in a local hospital. Mr. Craw was born in Jersey City, NJ and has lived nearly seventy years in Lake Charles. He was raised and educated in Stratford, CT were he was a graduate of Stratford High School. Mr. Craw served the United States Army Air Corps 15th Infantry World War II. He flew over fifty missions as a Tail Gunner, having been awarded the Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters. He worked primarily as a Service Repairman for forty years with Monroe Calculating Company. He was a Charter member of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church where he served as a greeter and usher, a Vestry member on numerous occasions and was a member of the SOS and breakfast club. His greatest love was his family, his devotion to his precious wife of sixty-eight years and his girls. Outside of his family and church, he enjoyed working in his yard. Mr. Craw will be most remembered as a selfless man of integrity. He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife, Louise Snyder Craw of Lake Charles; two daughters, Donna Miller and husband Tom of Mandeville and Helen Young and husband Richard of Lake Charles; four grandchildren, Lisa Migliore and husband Sam of Mandeville, Traci Armand and husband John of Jacksonville, FL, Katherine Yoes and husband Brandt of Lake Charles and Robert Young of Lafayette; seven great-grandchildren and two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Craw of Las Vegas, NV and Peggy Craw of Fairfield, CT. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Alva Craw and two brothers, Nelson and Elmer Craw. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. Father Peter Cook will officiate. Interment will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation Monday will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and Tuesday from 11:30 AM until the time of service at St. Michael.
