Donald Beryl Boyd, Sr., 73, of Lake Charles, LA died at 5:15 AM on Monday, November 28, 2011 in a local care facility.

Mr. Boyd was born July 10, 1938 in Tyronza, AR, lived all over the world, and has resided in Lake Charles since 1986. He retired from the U.S. Army after twenty years of service. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Mr. Boyd is survived by his wife of forty years, Barbara Sparkman Boyd; children, Donald Boyd, Jr. and wife Dotty of Oregon, David Charles Boyd and wife Jeanice of Georgia, Darren Boyd and wife Clara of Starks, LA, Diane Taylor and husband Bryan of Moss Bluff, David Dyess and wife Buffy of Longview, TX, and Bobby Dyess and wife Kayla of Texas; grandchildren, Darien, Dane, Lauren, Alex, Derek, Bevyn, and Shane.
