Donald Bryce Martin 24, of Westlake, LA completed his journey here on Earth, “Leveling Up” as he passed through the Pearly Gates of Heaven to join his Lord & Savior.
“Bryce” was born on December 15, 1996 in Sulphur, LA to Byron and Michelle “Chelle” Martin.
From a young age, Bryce was creative, lively, and possessed a kind and giving heart. Spending time with his family brought him much joy, together they would attend “Cruisin The Coast”, vacation cruises and his weekly grocery shopping at Walmart. He especially cherished his trips to Wendy’s with his Maw San.
His creativity was reflected in his many conversations with family and friends. He was constantly imagining new ideas for new game shows, TV shows, theme parks, restaurants, and sporting events. He was an 80’s kid at heart, he loved watching old Nickelodeon game shows, collecting, and watching his many VHS tapes. Don’t dare purchase a DVD for him, it just didn’t possess the retro feel. He loved playing many of the vintage video games found on his plug-n-play systems, Mario Brothers being his favorite.
Halloween was his favorite time of year, he would spend many hours planning and executing the perfect yard display. As an employee of Raising Cane’s, he took his job as Expo seriously, diligently ensuring every customer received their food in a timely manner.
He was a member of Boulevard Church of Christ where he learned more about the giving heart of Jesus Christ. Bryce too had a giving heart and on his sixteenth birthday he donated his gifts to Brennan’s Blessing. In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary donations be made to Brennan’s Blessings, 2109 Oak Forest Rd, Westlake, LA 70669.
He was welcomed into Heaven by his Paternal Grandparents, Donald and Sandra “Maw San” Martin.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents; Byron and Michelle “Chelle” Martin; his brother, Blake Martin; Maternal Grandparents, Bobby and Bridget Barnes of Westlake; an Uncle, Scott (Gina) Barnes of Sulphur, aunt Kim (Ken) Martinez of Houston; Cousins Kinley, Marlie, Carter, Zach, and Mia.
The family will welcome friends on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Boulevard Church of Christ, 2801 Enterprise Boulevard in Lake Charles from 1pm to 4pm. Bryce’s specific instructions are that no tears shall be shed, only stories of love and laughter in his honor. Gary Davis will lead his Celebration of Life on Thursday, beginning at 4pm. A private burial service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Consolata Cemetery.
