Donald Edward Thibodeaux, 63, of Lake Charles passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013 in the comfort of his home.
Mr. Thibodeaux was born in Richard, LA and has lived most of his life in Lake Charles. He served the United States Army. He also served many years as a part-time volunteer for the Calcasieu Parish Sherriff's Office. He began working as a Meat Cutter at the age of sixteen and had recently retired from Market Basket.
Mr. Thibodeaux enjoyed fishing, shopping flea markets and visiting casino's from time to time. His favorite past time was his annual vacation with his wife and girls. He was family oriented, a loving husband, caring father and protector whom took great pride in the time he shared with his grandchildren.
He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife of forty-two years, Katherine Kathy Thibodeaux of Lake Charles; three daughters, Pam Turney of Westlake, Lisa Olivier and husband Wayne of Westlake and Sheila Cavenah and husband Paul of Kinder; six grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; two brothers, Randall Thibodeaux and wife Lisa of Lafayette and Burleigh Johnson, Jr. and wife Leisa of Raceland and three sisters, Barbara Bellard and husband Kayprus of Eunice, Ramona Kraemer of Crowley and Gladys Reed of Rayne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gurney Thibodeaux and Rose Johnson and two brothers, David Thibodeaux and Robert Thibodeaux.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday 02, 2013 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Paul Cavenah will officiate. Interment will follow in Big Woods Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday will be from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue Thursday from 9:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
