Donald Francis George was one of seven children born to James and Rena George. He was born on March 1, 1931, in Charleston, West Virginia.
Faith, Family, and Fun brought him the most joy. He was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Creole, LA until Hurricane Rita.
He was an industrial electrician and was employed with Chevron until his retirement in 1989.
He is best remembered for his kind and gentle soul. Nothing brought him more joy than to spend time with his family, whether it was learning the history of things through the American Pickers show or watching golf tournaments with whichever grandchild was accompanying him that day. He could often be found repairing, correcting or amping up the productivity of various electronic equipment, especially computers.
He was welcomed into Heaven on Friday, June 4, 2021, by his parents; three grandchildren, Justin Picou, Ronnie George, and Jennifer George; his siblings, James, Harold, Viola (Sis), Mary, Jean and Patsy.
Those left to cherish his memory are; his wife of sixty-eight years, Willa Dean George; his children, David (Jeannie) George, Raymond “Ray” (Theresa) George, and Pam (Mitchel) Kelley; grandchildren, Rebekah (Ian) Guillory, Rachel (Trent) Powell, Rusty George, Michelle George, Joshua (Emily) Picou, Corey (Ali) Kelley, Ashley Buller; great grandchildren, Tristan, Raegan, Bailey, Avery, Nicholas, Drake, Zach, Tim, Aubrey, Aiden, Carlie, Sunni, Haven, Connor, and Bria; a brother, Bobby (Beth) George; a very special nephew, whom he cherished his weekly phone calls with, Bruce; as well as many extended family. The family would like to give special thanks to Dexter and Lena Peloquin for their love, support, and Donuts.
