Donald J. Broussard

Donald Joseph Broussard, 64, of Lake Charles died at 12:30 PM on Friday, February 18, 2011 in a local hospital.

Mr. Broussard was born in Lake Charles on December 23, 1946 and lived here all of his life. He was a graduate of Lake Charles High School and attended McNeese State University. Mr. Broussard retired from Basell as an operator after 32 years of service.

He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Wanda Broussard of Lake Charles; three children and their spouses, Carolyn Dever and David and Jerry Scott Broussard and Jennifer all of Lake Charles, and Erin Webb and Michael of Sulphur; four grandchildren, Kasey and Blaine Simon and Allie and Jessie-Elizabeth Webb; two sisters, Annette Bosse and husband Richard of Gary, North Carolina and Joyce Day of Dallas, TX; one brother, Leland Broussard and wife Gerry of Moss Bluff; an aunt, Lois Baham of Lake Charles; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Rene Broussard and a brother-in-law, Jerry Day.

A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. The Rev. Nathan Long will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Monday from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until 1:30 PM in the funeral home.
