Donald Kevin Higgins

Donald Kevin Higgins, 54, of Lake Charles, LA died at 10:40 AM on Monday, July 8, 2013 in a local hospital.

Mr. Higgins was born July 17, 1958 in Lake Charles, LA, where he was a life resident. He was a 1976 graduate of Barbe High School and attended McNeese State University. He worked as an operator at PPG for thirty-four years. Mr. Higgins was a member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, where he was a Grand Knight with the Knights of St. Peter Claver Council #246, a member of the 4th Degree Assembly 22, and the Knights of Columbus Council #4562. He enjoyed playing pool and was a member of the Choot'em Pool team. He was always helping others and had a big heart. Donald never told his friends no and always had a project going to help someone. He loved his family, especially his grandson, and will be missed dearly.

Mr. Higgins is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Cynthia Bellard Higgins; sons, Quincy Kevin Higgins and Donald Jerard D. J. Higgins and fiance'e Sierra Meche; mother, Edith Guillory; sisters, Tina Higgins, all of Lake Charles, and Tammie Higgins of Houston, TX; grandson, Mason Paul-Antoine Higgins; and numerous other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Wiltz Higgins; sister, Carla Higgins; and brother, Gary Paul Higgins.

His funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Father Keith Pellerin will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM with a rosary at 11:00 AM.
