Donald Lawrence Heffer

Donald Lawrence Heffer, 70, of Lake Charles died at 8:35 PM in at local hospital following a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by family and friends, when he was welcomed into the arms of our Heavenly Father.

Donald was born in Rochester, New York and has lived in Lake Charles for over 40 years. He was a graduate of the University of Rochester in New York. Mr. Heffer worked as a Mechanical Engineer for PPG for over forty-six years. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. We will miss his compassion, wisdom, grace, and his dedication to his family. We know he will find comfort and be free from pain as he rejoins his loved ones in Heaven.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie of forty-nine years, his daughters Betsy (wife of Mark Mullett of Baton Rouge, LA), Lisa, (wife of Jose Morales of Lake Charles, LA), and his sister Diane (wife of Ron Ehrich). His grandchildren include; Allie Mullett, Daniel Heffer, Timmy Heffer, A nna Mullett, Abby Mullett, Sydney Morales, Michael Morales, and Ashlyn Morales. He was also a proud uncle of several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by one son, Danny Heffer, his parents Dorothy and Lawrence Heffer.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Christ the King Catholic Church. Rev. Wayne LeBleu will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Tuesday at 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary to be recited by Monsignor Danny Torres at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at 8:00 AM until 9:30 in the funeral home.
