Donald "Mutt" Kershaw

September 11, 1952 — November 28, 2016

Donald “Mutt” Kershaw, 64, of Hackberry peacefully passed away Monday, November 28, 2016 at WCCH under the very attentive, wonderful, and caring watch of the ICU staff.

 

Mutt wore many hats to include but not limited to Veteran of the US Army, volunteer for Hackberry Fire Department for 25 years where he was recognized as Outstanding Fireman/Fireman of the Year and worked for Cameron Parish EMS for 16 years.

 

Immediate survivors of this amazing and giving man include 2 daughters, April and Celese Kershaw; 4 grandkids, Destany, Austin, and Breanna Gaudet and Morgan “Monkey Butt” Sutter; 4 brothers, Roger, Rodney, Wayne and Edwin “Brod” Kershaw; 2 sisters, Rachel Borill-Curl and Mona Benoit; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; lifelong friends; and a much loved extended ambulance family including CPEMS Byron, Mark, Rick, Will, John Jay, Al, Jerrie, Crystal, David, Jason, Jody, Diane, and Oscar and CPAD2  Rhonda, Brandi, Matt, Karla, Eve, Brad, Spicer, Kat, Gary, and Amy and many others at Med Express, South Cameron Memorial Hospital and the Hackberry Fire Department

 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John “Old Dad” and Claudia “Old Mom” Venable; his parents, Edward “Honey” and Una Kershaw; and beloved twin sisters, Linda Kershaw Wilson and  Brenda Kershaw Guidry; and dear friend, Thomas Widcamp.

 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 1, 2016 in the Johnson
Funeral Home Chapel.  The Rev. Paula Raley will officiate.  Burial will follow in Hackberry Cemetery.  Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
