Donald Warren Clift, 84, went to be with his Lord on July 2, 2017 at his home.
Mr. Clift was born in Veedersburg, Indiana and graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1950. From 1952 to 1956 he served our country in the United States Air Force. For most of his life he was a devoted member of Sterling Christian Church in Veedersburg. After moving to Westlake, LA nineteen years ago he joined Bellview Baptist Church. Mr. Clift was a good Christian man that truly loved the Lord. He had a servant’s heart and was very generous. He lived an active life and was a member of the NRA, VFW, American Legion, Lion’s Club, and Promise Keepers. Mr. Clift was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed cheering them on to their World Series Championship last year. Most of all, he enjoyed being with his grandchildren.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his two sons, Randy Clift and wife Jana of Woodstock, GA, and Dan Clift and wife Erin of Alvin, TX; daughter, Janice Tague and husband Forest of Attica, IN; brother, Jack Clift and wife Sarah Ann of Moss Bluff, LA; two sisters, Reba Page and husband Jim of Veedersburg, IN, and Patricia Ann Watson and husband Marion of Crawfordsville, IN; fifteen grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Alta Clift; first wife, Hazel Ingalsbe Clift; second wife, Kathryn Stone Clift; daughter, Sandy Hardy; and two sisters, Doris Olmstead, and Betty Mitton.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 11AM at Bellview Baptist Church in Westlake, LA. Brother John Ward will officiate. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at the church on Thursday, July 6 from 5PM to 9PM. Visitation will continue Friday morning at the church from 9AM until the start of the service at 11AM. A memorial service will also be held at a pending time in the future in Mr. Clift’s hometown of Veedersburg.
