Donald Wayne “Don” Booth, 80, of Lake Charles passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021 after a brief illness.
Donald was born on April 25, 1941, in Jennings, and lived all his adult life in Lake Charles. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He worked for Shell Oil Company for 5 years and retired from Lyondell Basell as an operator after 34 years of service. From a young age, Don always had a tremendous work ethic and could always be counted on by all who knew him.
He enjoyed the simpler things in life like riding his bike, fishing, going to his granddaughters’ school events, riding around the farm, watching college football, working on projects around his sons’ houses, and keeping his yard in immaculate condition. In his younger years, he also enjoyed attending high school football games. What he loved most in the world was spending time with his family and his granddaughters whom he loved very much.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Mary Ann Dommert Booth; two good sons whom he was extremely proud of, Scott Booth and Samuel Booth and his wife Kayla; granddaughters, Sarah Booth-Sconzert (Phoenix), and Katherine Booth; two brothers, Louis Gordon Booth and Mickey Hines; two sisters, Marsha Russell, and Mona Hines; and his best friend, Jack Spires.
Donald was preceded in death by his father, Louis Donald Booth; his mother, Sylvia Hines; and his stepfather, Bryan Hines.
In respect to Donald’s wishes, a visitation will be held at the University Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.
