Donavon Eugene Elliott

Donavon Eugene Elliott, 78, of Lake Charles, LA died Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Donavon was born on December 24, 1935 in Lake Charles, LA to Charles and Jewell Elliott. He was a native of the Lake Charles and graduated from LaGrange High School. He retired from a lifelong service as a machinist to the Petro Chemical industry. He was a very talented man that loved working with his hands. Donavon loved being around his family. He always enjoyed nature and all that it provided. He loved watching his animals as he enjoyed the outdoors. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Leona Cradeur Elliott; one daughter, Mary Ellen Elliott; two sons, Donnie Elliott and wife Janie, and Kimberly Elliott all of LeBleu Settlement; seven grandchildren, Mary Allison Labove, Zachary Elliott, Leah Michelle Elliott, Katelyn Nicole Elliott, Jolie Rose Elliott, Sherry Carlson, and Elliott Maynor; six great grandchildren, Kaiden, Lizzie, Gage, Elleigh, Mia, and Kolby; two sisters, Carolyn Richard and Kathy Elliott; and one brother, Dan Elliott. He is preceded in death by his mother and father; stepmother, Katherine Elliott; and two brothers, Charles and Bob Elliott. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will resume at 8:00 AM until time of service Sunday, September 28, 2014. Burial will be at Consolata Cemetery. Van Rambert will be officiating services.
