Donna Claire Reeds Lowery

Donna Claire Reeds Lowery, 56, of Lake Charles, LA died at 6:10 PM on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 after a nine year and three month battle with ovarian cancer. The family would like to thank Dr. Jubilee Brown, GYN Oncologist at M.D. Anderson for the wonderful care she has given Donna from the very beginning of her illness. They would also like to thank Dr. Michael Bergeron, his personal nurse Pam, chemo nurses Wendy and Skylee, and all the support staff in the Memorial Medical Oncology office at memorial Hospital. Also Christus Hospice of St. Patrick Hospital for their wonderful care given to Donna at the end. All these wonderful people God has put in our path during these trying years has made everything more bearable. Last but not least we would like to express our love and appreciation to all family members and friends who have shared this burden with Donna over the years. Everyone that knew Donna knew how important family and friends were to her. It was the love and friendship she shared with you that helped her keep up the good fight. Thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts. Mrs. Lowery is survived by her loving husband of thirty-five years, Daniel Lane Lowery; sons, Joshua Nathan Lowery of Spring, TX, Israel Lane Lowery and wife Jessica, and Gabriel Marcus Lowery; daughter, Sarah Michelle Lowery; mother, Helen Hedrich, all of Lake Charles; sister, Natalie Anne Martinez and husband Manuel of Baton Rouge; brothers, Raymond Reeds and wife Susan of Lake Charles, Evan Reeds and wife Rana of Llano, TX, and Robert Reeds and wife Lorita of Moss Bluff; grandchild, Griffin Lane Lowery and one on-the-way; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. Fathers Jeffrey Starkovich and Tim Goodly will officiate. Burial will follow in Sallier Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Scripture service at 6:00 PM lead by Deacon Ed McNally. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Saturday from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM. Pallbearers for her service will be Raymond, Evan, and Robert Reeds, and Joshua, Israel, and Gabriel Lowery.
