Donna Hanks

Donna Michelle Perry Hanks, 59, passed away and was greeted by her baby girl Aleesha on Friday, July 5, 2024, in her residence surrounded by her loving family. She enjoyed being outdoors camping and being around friends and family.  A highlight of her life was attending the Dancing with the Stars tour with her sisters. She was a 1982 graduate of Sulphur High School and attended Delta School of Business to further her education. Donna was a member of Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church of Sulphur where she was a member of the Jaycee’s. She worked as a corrections officer in the women’s prison in Baton Rouge and at Phelps Correctional Center. Donna also worked in the petrochemical industry for many years at Conoco and Sasol.

Those left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 28 years, Darrell Hanks; father, Gerald Perry; siblings, Darby Perry and wife Kim, Jinna Miller and husband Kenny, Dana Hargrave and husband Wendell; sister in law, Angie Holbrook and husband Shane; nieces, Anna Perry, Tracy Tremont, Kayla Cannon and husband Brady, Kasie Falterman and husband Chad, Kayne Hargrave and wife Lyndsey, Heidi Holbrook, Josh Holbrook, and Mason Holbrook; great nieces and nephews, Kylee, Tailan, Brecken, Briggs, Masen, Davis, Eleanor; and in laws, L.J. and Bernita Hanks and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Aleesha Perry; mother, Barbara Darbonne Perry; and niece, Baylee Perry.

Memorial services will be at 6:30 PM on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM rosary led by Shane Vincent Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank Dr. Khan and his staff, Dr. Thomas and his staff and Heart of Hospice and their staff for the loving care they gave.
