Donna "Kaye" Brown

Donna "Kaye" Vinson Brown, 62, of Lake Charles, LA went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 surrounded by her children. Kaye was born May 11, 1952 in Alexandria, LA. She was a 1970 graduate of Marshall High School and worked for nine years at Christus Highland Clinic in Shreveport, retiring in 2008, where she helped everyone who walked through the door. Her life revolved around her family and she supported her children in all of their activities including those at Barbe High School. Kaye was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She was a member of Belview Baptist Church in Westlake, LA. She enjoyed traveling, cooking and loved being a full-time mother. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor and her love for music. Kaye opened her beautiful home and loved to entertain family and friends. Kaye is survived by her sons, Paul Brown and wife Dena, Michael Brown, and Dustin Brown and wife Candyce, all of Lake Charles; daughter, Kelli David and husband Brandon of Lake Charles; brother, Huey M. Vinson, Jr. and wife Diane of Westlake; sisters, Pamela Parker and husband John, Cindy Parker, and Vicki Bass and husband Mark, all of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren, Lauryn, Blake, Benjamin, Sarah, and Morgan David, Erica, Hannah, Hunter, and Presley Brown; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifteen years, Thomas Arthur Brown; and mother, Lena Mae Broussard Vinson; and father, Huey M. Vinson, Sr. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Jaceson Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Friday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
