Donna Sue Eskind

Donna Sue Eskind, 64, of Lake Charles passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020 in a New Orleans hospital.

Donna was born on April 2, 1956 in Lake Charles where she was a lifelong resident and attended Barbe High School.  She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.  Donna spent a lot of her time volunteering at Rosewood Nursing Home.

She was an avid Saints fan and could often be found listening to their games on the radio.  Donna cherished the time that she spent with her family.  In her spare time, she took pleasure in writing poems, coloring, and listening to music to calm and soothe her.

Those left to cherish her memory are a son, Bryan Eskind and wife Karol of Grand Lake; brothers, Johnny Eskind and wife Barbara of Moss Bluff, Jimmy Eskind and friend, Phillip of Dallas, and Robert Eskind of Lake Charles; sisters, Debbie Papania and husband Luke of Lake Charles, Brenda Belmer of Duson, and Sharon Elkins and husband AJ of Lake Charles; and grandchildren, Bryanna and Karson Eskind.  She also leaves behind a dear friend, Maxine Sanger of Lake Charles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Merle Roy Eskind and two brothers, Jerry and Gerald Eskind.

A prayer service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.  Monsignor Harry Greig and Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate.  Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will begin in the church on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the start of the prayer service.

In lieu of flowers, a monetary donation can be made in memory of her, for her grandchildren.

All attendees must wear masks while in the church and respect social distancing.
