Donna Sue Kibodeaux

Donna Sue Kibodeaux, 53, died at 12:02 AM Friday, April 23, 2011, in her mother's residence, with her loving mother and family at her side.


Born in Crowley, Louisiana, to Morris Melvin and Doye Spell Kibodeaux, Donna grew up in Lake Charles, graduating from Barbe High School in 1975, and then moved to Houston, where she graduated from Houston Community College in business. She worked as Administrative Assistant for Arlen Capital in San Diego, California for six years, for Cal Dive in Houston, Texas for many years, and she also enjoyed being a successful BeautiControl consultant for a number of years. Donna enjoyed travelling and gardening, gleaning great pleasure as her flowers bloomed. A very special joy was found in her pet, her beloved Boxer, Duke, whom she loved and adored.


Those left to cherish her memory are her loving mother, Doye Kibodeaux Courville of Lake Charles; brother Kevin Spell, also of Lake Charles; sisters Debbie Broussard and her husband Carl and Linda Kibodeaux, all of Abbeville, and Cheryl Richardson and husband Bryan of Lake Charles; aunt, Martha Spell of Westlake and uncle Bobby Kibodeaux of Eagan; nephews Daniel Richardson of San Diego, California and Jason Broussard of Abbeville; niece Angela Broussard, also of Abbeville; great nieces and nephews, Blake, Lane and Jenna Bodin, Kaylie Martin, Gage and Kelsie Broussard and Alexis Richard; and very special and devoted friends, Jennifer Calkins of Austin, Texas, Carla Amy of Lake Charles and Christine Pacicello of California and Jill Greenburg of California.


Donna was preceded in death by her dad, Morris M. Kibodeaux, grandparents, Murl and Valine Spell and Edmund and Viola Kibodeaux, and her beloved Duke.


A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 25, 2011 at 4:00 PM from the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Rick Harper will officiate. Visitation will begin at 2:30 PM until the time of services. The body was cremated.


The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the compassion care given Donna during her illness to Odyssey Hospice.
