Doris Amy Smith

Doris Amy Smith, 94, passed away on January 20, 2022 at her residence.

She was born on December 8, 1927 in Lake Charles, LA to Dudley Edward Amy, Sr. and Lovisa Alice Elmer Amy. She will be remembered for her dedication to her Catholic faith and her love for her family. In past years she had been involved in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and in the Ladies Altar Society.

She is survived by her children, Larry Smith (Siobhan), Ronald Smith (Cheryl), Gregory Smith (Rhonda), and Melanie Addison (Jeff); 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren; siblings, Betty (Amy) Morris, Paula (Amy) Stensby, and Rita Fay Amy Bourgeois; as well as other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Lee Smith; son, Terry Smith; brothers, George Amy and Dudley Edward Amy, Jr.; and sister, Ruth Anne Amy Leach.  

A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church on Thursday, January 27 at 11 a.m. The Very Rev. Rojo Koonathan will officiate. Burial will take place in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery following the service. Visitation will take place at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service with a rosary being recited at 10:00 a.m.
