Doris Ann Fontenot

Doris Ann Romero Fontenot, 74, died on August 20, 2017, in her home, with her family at her side.

Born in Pt. Arthur, Texas to Evelier Joseph and Eula Marie Rogers Romero. Doris attended Stephen F. Austin High School. She moved to Lake Charles in 1964, where she was a homemaker, making a happy home for her husband and children. She later worked as a supervisor for CARC for ten years where she developed a special connection with her beloved clients. Doris was a member of Indian Village Baptist Church. One of her favorite pastimes was scrapbooking. She made a scrapbook for each of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and even for her beloved dog, Sam.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Christine Fontenot, Jessica Fontenot and Kenneth Fontenot, all of Moss Bluff, and Donna Blount and husband Terry of Virginia; one sister, Connie Peters of Kirbyville, Texas; two grandchildren, Jade Guillory and Nikki Blount; and two great grandchildren, Roxie and Dayton Guillory.

Mrs. Fontenot was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband of thirty-seven years, Morris Fontenot.

Funeral services will be held at 10AM on Thursday, August 24, 2017, at Johnson Funeral Home officiated by Rev. E. J. McCann.   Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, from 5PM until 9PM and will resume on Thursday from 8 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow the funeral services at Istre Cemetery in Morse, Louisiana.

The family would like to express their grateful appreciation for the compassionate care given their beloved mother to the staff of Heart of Hospice.
