Doris Jean Trahan

Doris Jean Dickens Trahan, 82, of Lake Charles passed away Thursday, February 04, 2016 in a local healthcare facility.

Mrs. Trahan was born and raised in Carrizo Springs, TX and was a graduate of Lake Charles High School. She lived most of her life in Lake Charles. She enjoyed cross stitch, quilting, cooking and baking. Her greatest times were spending several weeks every summer with her family at Mathis Lake in Texas. She also enjoyed her weekly "Hen party" at Casa Manana where she was known as the "cake lady". Mrs. Trahan will be most remembered for her kind and giving heart.

She leaves to cherish her memory, five children, Robert "Bobby" Trahan and wife Ione of Moss Bluff, Rogers H. Trahan of Houston, TX, Elizabeth Trahan and Kathy Trahan, both of Lake Charles and Donald W. Trahan and wife Terrie of Lafayette; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and her "baby dog" Peggy Sue.

She was preceded in death by her former husband Robert "Smokey" Trahan; two brothers; one sister and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Living Way Pentecostal Church, building B, in Lake Charles. Reverend Jimmy Trahan will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will follow the service at the church.
