Doris L. Thrasher

Doris Lou Lee Thrasher, 89, of Lake Charles passed away Monday, July 08, 2013 in a local healthcare facility.

Mrs. Thrasher was born in Calcasieu Parish, raised and educated in the Longville, Ragley and Gillis area and lived most of her life in Lake Charles. Having played basketball during her younger years, she was an avid fan of women and men's basketball as she cheered every player on by name, she knew them all. She also enjoyed many years of camping and fishing with her family, cooking and canning. Mrs. Thrasher took great pride in her care and love of her family.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Robert Thrasher and wife Connie of Lake Charles; three grandchildren, Jennifer Clark of Vidor, TX, Tommy Thrasher and Bobby Thrasher, of Lake Charles and one great-grandchild, Gracie Kennon of Lake Charles.

She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-six years, Louis C. Thrasher; son, George L. Thrasher; parents; four brothers and one sister.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 11, 2013 in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Jonesboro, LA. Rev. Bill Staples will officiate. Interment will follow.
