Dorothy "Dot" Lee Lapoint

Dorothy Lapoint 71, of Lake Charles, LA died Sunday, July 19, 2015 in a local hospital. Dorothy was born on December 21, 1943 in Eunice, LA to Abbie and Ella Guillory. Dorothy was a stay at home mom who also worked for her friends catering business. Later in life Dorothy began to watch children in her home including grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and family friends. Dorothy had an amazing love for life and her family. She leaves behind her husband of 30 years, Emery Lapoint Jr.; one sister, Delores Reed; four children, Lynn Miller and husband Larry, Robert Rowland and wife Becky, Kayla Reed and husband Larry, Richard Rowland and wife Rachel; three stepchildren, Shane Lapoint and wife Darla, Hope "Sissy" Bebee, and Barbara "Missy" Stewart; twenty two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, James Guillory. Services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a 6:00 PM rosary Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Wednesday, July 22, 2015 from 8:00 AM until 12:30 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. The Very Reverend Anthony Fontenot will co-officiate services with Father Wayne LeBleu.
