Dorothy J. Weatherly

Dorothy J. Weatherly, 74, of Lake Charles, LA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 22, 2014 in a local hospital. Dorothy was born on June 27, 1940 in Jacksonville, Alabama to James and Roxie Homesley. Dorothy was a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Lake Charles. She loved being around friends and family. June was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She loved shopping, gardening, working around the church, and was always in prayer. She will be greatly missed by family, her church family at friendship Baptist, and friends from all over. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, William "Bill" Weatherly; two sons, James Everette Weatherly and wife Ann, and Danny Lee Weatherly and wife Becky Fereiou; three daughters, Shana Lynn Key and husband Scott, Celia Dawn Howe and husband Charles, and Heather Marie Hale and husband Brent; ten grand children and seven great grand children. She is preceded in death by William Howard Weatherly and her parents. Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Friendship Baptist Church in Lake Charles. Visitation will begin on Monday, August 25, 2014 at 5:00 PM until 9:00PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will resume from 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Friendship Baptist Church until time of service. Burial will be at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Dale Nazworth will officiate services.
