Dorothy Johnson

Dorothy Johnson, 71, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023 in a local care facility.

She was born on August 16, 1951 in Oakdale, LA to Anley and Joan Rider. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed working in her yard, spending time with her grandchildren, and talking with her sister on her porch.

She is survived by her children, Martin David Johnson, Jr., Angela Denise Watkins (James), and Natasha Johnson; 7 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; brother, Johnny Willis; sister, Karen Windsor; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin David Johnson, Sr.; grandson, Hunter Gage Dyson; great grandson, Larhon Wayne Gamble, Jr.; and siblings, Kathleen Eastwood, Joan Walker, Marry Lee Fruge, and Tammy George.

Her funeral service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 10 a.m. Victor and Sandra Becerra will officiate. Burial will take place in Consolata Cemetery following the funeral service. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will continue Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the start of the service.
