Dorothy Ann Broussard, 92, of Sweet Lake died at 3:20 PM on Saturday, December 21, 2013 in a local care facility. Mrs. Broussard was born in Sweet Lake on December 4, 1921 where she resided all of her life. She was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church and belonged to the Altar Society. She enjoyed hosting Pokeno parties and was known for her ability to cook and enjoyed it very much. Those left to cherish her memory are two sons and their wives, Larry Broussard and Genny and Harold Broussard and Susan all of Sweet Lake; a daughter and her husband, Bonnie Berry and Lynn of Sweet Lake; a sister, Pearl Pellerin of Baton Rouge; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Antoine Broussard; a daughter, Ora Lee Broussard; two brothers, Samuel Lee and Wesley LeBouef; and three sisters, Elta Huber, Lucy Kuhlman, and Leola Fogleman. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Monsignor Harry Greig will officiate. Burial will follow in Grand Lake Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Monday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Harbor Hospice and also the staff of Grand Cove Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the great care they showed Mrs. Broussard.
