Dorothy Lee "Dot" Begnaud Guidry, 82 of Sulphur passed away on August 14, 2015 in a local care center. Dot lived in Sulphur for the past 54 years and was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Sulphur. She enjoyed singing, writing poetry, calligraphy, and dancing. Dot and her husband Dan spent many years traveling 48 states, Canada and Mexico. Dot's greatest joy was spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends. Dot is survived by her husband of 61 years, Dan "D J" Guidry of Sulphur; her three children, Mike Guidry and wife Chris of Lake Charles, Kelly Guidry and Karla Willis both of Sulphur; 9 grandchildren, Philip Guidry and wife Renata, Beau Guidry and fiancé Tressi, Lori Dumas and husband Eric, James and fiancé Kim, Eric Guidry and wife Danielle, Aaron Guidry, Kassie Stantzsch and husband Alex, Julie Fontenot and husband Sam, and Melanie Ellis and husband Charlie, 14 great grandchildren; her brother, Wesley Begnaud, Jr. and wife Vivian; and numerous nieces, nephews and god-children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Nelda Begnaud, Sr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 17, 2015 at 10 A.M. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Sulphur with Father Edward Richard officiating. Burial will be held in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 16, 2015 from 4-9 P.M. with a rosary at 6:30 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Monday, August 17, 2015 at 8 A.M. at the funeral home until time of leaving for the church. The family would like to express their thanks to her caregivers, Nancy and Christina, the staff of Holly Hill Care Center and Southern Care Hospice.
