Dorothy Sue Carter

Dorothy Sue Carter, 58, of Grand Chenier, died Tuesday December 1, 2015.   Dorothy was a native of Albany, Georgia and a resident of Grand Chenier for the past 23years. She retired as chief steward in the United States Merchant Marine and employed with the Louisiana Department of Transportation.   She is survived by her husband, Neil S. Carter, Grand Chenier; parents, Ronald C. and Faye Floyd Barnes, Mimms, Fl; daughter, Kathlin Hudson and husband Christopher, Colorado; granddaughter, Clara Hudson; brothers, Donald C. Barnes, Costa Mesa, CA and Eugene Allen Barnes, Mimms, FL; and a sister, Rhonda Hooks, Jacksonville, North Carolina.   Visitation will be at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 703 Oak Grove Hwy, Grand Chenier, LA 70643 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday December 6, 2015. Funeral services will be held at the church on Monday December 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Rod Vincent officiating under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
