Dorothy Swire

Dorothy Swire, 76, of Lake Charles passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022 in a Lafayette hospital.

Dorothy was born on October 26, 1945 in Lake Charles where she resided all of her life and attended Marion High School.  She was a homemaker in her earlier years and beginning in 1979 she worked as a healthcare sitter until 2004. 

Dorothy enjoyed playing cards and dominos with her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed crocheting blankets.

Those left to cherish her memory are son, David Frieu (Christi), daughter in law, BJ Frieu; grandchildren, T-dave Frieu (Nikki), Anna Jackson, Tana Hall, Gabrielle Frieu, and Aaron Frieu; sister, Peggy Laughlin (Raymond); brothers, Roy Hebert and Larry Newman; and numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Paul Godfred Frieu, Sr. and Luma Swire; mother, Dorothy Hebert; son, Paul G. Frieu; sister, Leona Fruge; and brother, C.E. Newman, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 4, 2022 in the University Baptist Church.  Pastor George Lee Glass, Jr. will officiate.  Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will begin in the church from 12:00 PM until the start of the service.
