"Rejoice in the Lord always!" Philippians 4:4

Dorrie Kay Fontenot, 51, of Lacassine, LA, accepted the Lord's invitation to walk with Him in heaven on August 15, 2012.

Miss Fontenot was born June 28, 1961 in Lake Charles, LA, was a graduate of Alfred M. Barbe High School, attended Sowela Tech and began her studies in Archaeology at McNeese State University until she was diagnosed with a lifelong illness. Miss Fontenot enjoyed writing and publishing poetry that exhorted others about her Savior, Jesus Christ. She never failed to say "God Loves You" to any person she met and became an instant friend to everyone. She also enjoyed searching local grounds with her metal detector, emailing friends, collecting coins and riding her scooter with her little dog, Cookie. Miss Fontenot loved animals and won many trophies by traveling and showing rabbits.

She will be most remembered for her Christian faith, her smiles and her laughter.

Those waiting to join her are her parents, Dallas and Gladys "Lou" Fontenot of Lacassine; two sisters, Sharon "Sherrie" Raymond and husband Scott of Lake Charles and Bonnie Fontenot of Lacassine; two nephews, Eric Raymond and wife Adrienne of Arlington, VA and Jason Raymond and wife Jamie of Lake Charles; and her dear friend, Maxine Sanger of Lake Charles.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Theophile and Anna McGee Fontenot and Alexie and Isabella Vidrine McGee and her favorite great-aunt, Rose Vidrine Poff.

Memorial services will be at 4:00 PM Monday, August 20, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Miss Fontenot will be cremated in accordance with her wishes.
