Johnson and Robison Funeral Home 107 W. Napoleon St. Sulphur, La. 70663 337-528-0240 Douglas Wayne Rather Douglas Wayne Rather, 59 of Sulphur passed away on October 3, 2014 in a local hospital. Douglas was born in Leesville, LA and a graduate of Sulphur High School. He worked for W.R. Grace for 34 years as an operator, loved to fish and watch football. Douglas is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sheila Fathe McCall Rather of Sulphur; a daughter, Krystal Rather Sexton and husband Marty Ray of Houston, TX; his parents, Billy and Marjorie Rather of Sulphur; a brother, Gerald Kenneth Rather and wife Sheila of Iowa, LA; a half-brother, William Walker of Walnut Creek, CA; a half-sister, Brenda Joice Martin of Westlake, LA; and his mother-in-law, Belle McCall of Sulphur. He was preceded in death by his sister, Billie Lou Plummer; and his father-in-law, Dorsey "Bull" McCall. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 3 p.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Rev Clay Fontenot officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 3-9 p.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home and will resume visitation on Monday at the funeral home at 12 p.m. until time of the service.
