Doye Kibodeaux, 89 of Lake Charles was called Home on April 9, 2021.
She was born on July 28, 1931 to Murl and Valine Spell in Abbeville, LA and graduated from Indian Bayou High School.
Doye enjoyed the simplicity of life, spending time with her family is what brought her the most joy as she was dutiful and proud mother to her five children. She loved to travel, often loading the kids up and going on vacation to different states and the diamond mines in Arkansas. She loved listening to music, Elvis and Merle Haggard being her favorites. She cherished the memories she made when she traveled to see Elvis. When at home she enjoyed playing cards, dominos, and watching her beloved Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints. She also enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and her morning soap operas.
Those left to cherish her memory are, her children; Debra(Carl) Broussard, of Abbeville, LA, Cheryl(Bryan) Richardson, Kevin(Kristine) Spell, and Linda Kibodeaux; grandchildren, Jason(Keesha) Broussard, Angela(Robert) Estaville, Daniel E. Richardson; great grandchildren, Blake(Alyssa) Bodin, Lane(Ryder) Bodin, Gage(Brittney) Broussard, Lexie Broussard, Kelsie Broussard, Jenna Bodin, Kaylie Martin, and Kaela Richardson; great great grandchildren, Dawson Bodin, and Laynie Bodin; a sister, Martha Ann Spell of Westlake, LA; and numerous extended family. A special thank you to James, Evelyn and Michael Dodd for their loving care of Doye over the years and also many surrounding neighbors.
She was welcomed into Heaven by her loving husband, Morris Melvin Kibodeaux; a daughter, Donna Sue Kibodeaux; her parents; a sister, Rena Mae Spell and a brother, Merlyn Ray Spell and her beloved fur babies, whom she loved more than anything, Rex and Merl, and her grand dog Kyra Sue.
The family will welcome friends at University Baptist Church on Saturday, April 17, 2021 beginning at 10am until time of service. A celebration of her life will begin at 2pm. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. The family will have a private burial at a later date, she and her daughter Donna Sue will be laid to rest next to her loving husband at Indian Bayou Cemetery.
