Dudley DeVille, 88, of Lake Charles died at 7:00 AM Friday, October 4, 2013 in his residence. Mr. DeVille was born and raised in Holmwood, Louisiana and has lived in Lake Charles, LA since1932. Dudley served his country proudly serving in the United States Army. He served in England, Germany, and France during World War II. Mr. DeVille worked as an operator for over 31 years at Firestone Tire and Rubber retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing, and shrimping. He was a wonderful, generous, and loving father and caregiver who never complained. He is survived by two sons, Rev. Dr. Anthony G. DeVille and Philip Rick DeVille and wife Beverly all of Lake Charles, LA, three daughters: Rosita Thibodeaux of Lake Charles, Quindell DeVille of Gillis, LA, and Stacy Williams and husband Tony of South Carolina, his very dear friend, Ophelia Guillory of Lake Charles, LA, twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive him. Mr. DeVille was preceded in death by his parents Lorena and Alter DeVille, his first wife Beaulah DeVille, his second wife Eluia DeVille, and one son, Nicholas DeVille. His Funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at 2:30 PM at St. Henry Catholic Church. Monsignor Daniel Torres will be the celebrant. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Wednesday at 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM with a rosary to be held at 1:00 PM in the funeral home. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Harbor Hospice for their care and compassion for their father during his time of need.
