Earl C. Hamilton, 94, of Bundick Lake, LA died at 2:15 AM on Sunday, December 19, 2010 in a local hospital.
Mr. Hamilton was born August 13, 1916 in Islesboro, ME, where he graduated high school. He served in the U.S. Air Force for twenty-one years, retiring as a Master Sargent. Mr. Hamilton lived in Lake Charles for twenty-five years, before moving to Bundick Lake in 1992. He was a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church. His passion in life was traveling and seeing the world. He also enjoyed fishing and collecting coins from the different places that he visited. He will always be remembered as the rock in his family and will be missed greatly.
Mr. Hamilton is survived by his sons, Brian Hamilton and wife Becky and Bruce Hamilton and wife Joni; daughter, Wendy Thames; grandchildren, Matt Slaydon, Jason Slaydon, Jenny Slaydon, Fisher Hamilton, Hannah Hamilton, all of Lake Charles, Phoebe Qualls of Sulphur, and Tiffany Maggio of Moss Bluff; great-grandchildren, Carter, Sadie, Hunter, Seth, and Sarah; and close family friend Inci Glover of Lake Charles.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Barton Hamilton and sister, Dorothy Hamilton.
His funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Rick McClain will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
