Earl Clarence Dorman

October 3, 1950 — April 6, 2021

Earl Clarence Dorman left this earthly life surrounded by his beloved family on April 6, 2021, at age 70.

He was born in San Diego, California.  He attended Stephen F. Austin High School in Port Acres, Texas, where he met the love of his life and mastered the art of shenanigans.  After graduating from Purdue University, he married his wife, Debbie.  Together, they had three children, Kimberly, Greg, and Cody, and planted their family roots in Sulphur, Louisiana.

He quickly became an active member of the community by sharing his love of sports and music.  He spent many years coaching youth baseball and soccer and entertaining the locals as the infamous “Godfather of Mobile DJs.”

He began his career at Pullman Standard in Chicago, Illinois, and, after 25 years of service as a construction manager, he retired from Olin Chemicals.  Throughout his tenure, he obtained several patents relative to his field.  After retirement, he enjoyed “working for fun” at Levingston Engineers.

Earl was a devoted husband; a loving and ever-present father and Papa; a caring brother and friend; and the life of every party.  He enjoyed traveling; camping with his wife, grandchildren and friends; and sharing his sense of humor with all those around him.  Despite his size, his personality and energy were larger than life.

Those left to carry on Earl’s legacy are his saintly wife of 48 years, Deborah Judice Dorman; his daughter, Kimberly Bienvenu (Marty) of Iowa, LA; his sons, Greg Dorman (Tarah) of Lake Charles, LA, and Cody Dorman (Candice) of Westlake, LA; his grandchildren, Gavin, Abigail and Chloe Bienvenu and Parker Dorman; his siblings, Debbie Broussard, Mike Dorman, Belinda Mason, Kirk Dorman, Melody Gendron, Rita Logsdon, Judy Tyrell, and Nancy Koonce; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and 5 siblings.

Per Earl’s request, no services will be scheduled, but his family and friends will celebrate his life for the remainder of their days.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
