Earl Allen Roddy

Earl Allen Roddy, 93, of Lake Charles, LA, passed away on November 27, 2024. Born on July 27, 1931, in Lake Charles, he was the son of John and Marie (Firmin) Roddy.

Earl proudly served in the Air Force for 12 years, where he received several commendations, including the United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, Good Conduct Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.

His military service instilled in him a strong sense of discipline, structure, and resilience, which guided him throughout his life. Known affectionately as "Grandad," Earl was a jack-of-all-trades who could fix anything. He deeply loved his wife of 64 years and cherished every moment with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Earl will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 2, 2024, in the Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles Chapel. He will be laid to rest in Highland Memory Gardens.
